Both the Batesville Girls and Boys Cross Country teams took runner up tonight at the 9 team Jennings County Invitational.Despite having 7 girls and 9 boys in the top 25 to receive awards and 17 members running personal bests, Jennings County was just a little bit faster. The girls came in 2nd by just 5 points losing 34-39 and the boys lost by 11, 24-35. Batesville also claimed both individual runner’s up spots.The brother and sister Loichinger duo. Liz by just 4 seconds (19:53) to Jennings County’s Emma Morrison and Ean missed the top spot by just 5 seconds (16:19) to Jennings County’s Carter Leak. Awards were given to the top 25. On the girls side, besides Liz, we had 6 others in the top 25 and they were: Lily Pinckley, 4th, Sarah Ripperger, 10th, Katie Olsen, 11th, Trysta Vierling, 12th, Maria Lopez, 13th and Ava Ralston, 20th. For the boys, the Bulldogs placed 8 other runners in the top 25. Joshua Myers, 4th, Adam Moster, 6th, Benjamin Moster, 10th, Adam Hollowell, 14th, Dillon Murray, 17th, Nathan Eckstein, 19th, Luke Esser, 20th and Daren Smith, 24th.Way to go to all! Beside having 16 Bulldogs receive awards, there were 17 that ran personal bests. They were: Sarah Ripperger, Katie Olsen, Maria Lopez, Ava Ralston, Alyssa Linville, Ean Loichinger, Joshua Myers, Benjamin Moster, Adam Hollowell, Luke Esser, Daren Smith, Alex Livers, Landon Gutzwiller, Kasin Hughes, Elliott Martz, Zach Gutzwiller and Levi Lowery.Batesville’s next meet will be Saturday as they will travel to South Dearborn for their invitational.
