The big-hitting opener went past Lara’s tally of 299 matches in the ongoing series.Notably, Chris Gayle had announced that World Cup 2019 would be last international assignment but he reverse his decision to play ODIs and at least a Test against India in the ongoing series. Notably, West Indies captain Jason Holder had said even he wasn’t aware about Gayle’s change of mind before the limited-overs great announced his U-turn in a press conference at the World Cup.Gayle though has not been picked in West Indies’ Test squad that was announced last week. Opposition objects to impounding of passports of MPs

He said that the rights of Parliamentarians are violated when their passports are impounded.Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala said that the matter has been brought to the notice of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and he was looking into it.
